Selecting and fitting clawfoot tub faucets
There
are a range of different clawfoot tub faucets that you can choose from.
These styles include tub wall mounted, freestanding and rim mounted. The
most popular style of clawfoot tub faucets in the USA is the wall faucet.
Wall mounted faucets are installed using the precut holes in the tub.
It is becoming more common to have holes drilled to the rim later to allow
for a vast variety of clawfoot tub faucets and individual preferences.
This allows more room in the claw foot bath tubs for the user with faucets
not on the inside bathtub walls. Predrilled hole tubs should have deck
or rim mounted faucets. Uncut claw foot bath tubs should have faucets
mounted to the wall or mounted on freestanding supplies. When selecting
your clawfoot tub faucets you need to ensure they they will fit your bath
correctly.
Fitting your faucets
- wal mounted clawfoot tub faucets can be converted to deck mount
with swivel arm and deck mount couplers.
- You will need a faucet with a changeable center for tubs that
have holes that are not
3 3/8" from center to center.
- If the size of your faucet hole in your rim is not 7",
then you could use deck mount faucets that are matched with swing
arm couplers for a variable center.
